My Dad's Funeral

My father died March 16, 2011. Craig and I made a fast trip to Utah. It was a long drive but always glad to see everyone. I will miss my dad but know he is much happier. He has been down for a while. Now he can see, hear and run. He loved life and loved to make everyone smile. I gave the family prayer. Curtis Rawlings, LaNae, and Scott Jenson said prayers. Symony and Valerie told the life sketch. Irene, Beth, and Arvona spoke. Songs were sung by the Hospice Chaplin Dan Judd, who sang, "We Know That Our Redeemer Lives." Shirley and her two daughters sang, "I Stand All Amazed," and Doug Bird sang, "That Silver-Haired Daddy of Mine." Everything was very nice.

See who you recognized, and if you know names. I kept testing Travis and he knew more people than I thought.

Visitors

Our most recent visitors have been Sid and my sisiter LaNae. It was so good to have them come. The favorites were the sun, going to the swap meet, playing games and visiting. Everyone (Craig) was a good sport, and no one stomped off mad. It was so fun!!! Come again!

Our hike in the cactus

Then near the end of January Irene flew down and visited. I was excited that she stayed with us. We again had a good visit, shopped, and played games. She taught us a card game called 5 crowns which is now our fun game.
Helena and Paris

Brody had his 3rd birthday party the end of January. He was very excited, and we all had a good time.

Then for Thanksgiving Sym, Josh, and kids visited. I know, I am really far behind. What a good time. It is real nice for me to have the girls like grandma the best.

Why we live in Arizona

Now I'm remembering why we live in Arizona. Finally the weather is beautiful. The flowers are beautiful and it's about time for some visitors hopefully again. Here are some pictures of the bushes in our yard. The plants are beautiful everywhere. You can tell the sage is my favorite. I couldn't decide which picture so I did four.

Orange Jubilee

Water Lily

Bougainvillea

Craig and I went with the Parkers to The Little Mermaid at the Hale Theater. We, even Craig, enjoyed the performance. Brody liked the dog the best but after would not take his picture by the dog. My favorite picture is me trying to get Brody close to the dog. Check out Helena's blog to see that picture and more. The funniest part of the whole day is after when we asked Gavin how he like the play. He told us that wasn't a play. He had to sit the whole time and he never got to play. We decided we had to call it a show from now on. I'm glad Helena take us places or we would never go anywhere. Our biggest excitement is going to the mall and getting cheese on a stick. Now we can play games outside and soon the swap meet. Come visit before May!

Surprise Visit

Sym surprised us with a visit. Who would want to drive alone in July to Arizona with 3 little kids? I think she didn't tell us because all she would hear from us is that she is crazy. Josh did fly in Wednesday night and drove back with them Sunday morning. It was fun to see them and actually the weather was a lot cooler than normal. Cloudy and humid so we did swim a bit. You all knew how much I wanted a pool. Well, Craig finally let me get one. Isn't he nice.

This is Cheyane in our back yard pool.

Helena and fam. visited often also.
This next picture shows why Gavin gets into trouble.

But there is payback time. Gavin and Grandpa are to much the same.

Remi

When Grandpa saw this picture he was not happy."Who put those kids up there? Why are they on my ledge?" You know how it goes.
